600th Class Celebration
Updated: Oct 1
600 Mondays. 600 Opportunities.
Mondays at the Mission recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: its 600th Monday.
Six hundred opportunities for young people to learn, ask questions, discover their gifts, and imagine a different future.
600 times volunteers showed up.
600 times guest speakers shared their stories.
600 meaningful classes filled with connection, curiosity, and hope.
And 600 times, Union Rescue Mission opened its doors to the program.
Honoring Union Rescue Mission
The celebration recognized the team at Union Rescue Mission, including LaTonja Lindsey, Jennifer Kavenaugh, Kathy Ward, Genesis Hernandez, Mark Hood, Jon Yasuda, Christine Wells, Alexandra Monsibaez, Kitty Davis-Walker, and former leaders Rev. Andy Bales and Richard Newcomb. Their faith, support, and willingness to open the doors of Union Rescue Mission to Mondays at the Mission have made the program's 600 Mondays possible.
Love in Action
Love Button Global Movement was recognized during the celebration for its unwavering commitment to believing in people and investing in their futures. The organization's support helped make the evening's celebration and awards possible.
Its philosophy is beautifully simple: love isn't just something we feel. It's something we do.
The First Akeeva Legacy Award Recipient
One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the presentation of the 2026 Akeeva Legacy Award. The award honors the memory of Akeeva Rockwell, a young boy remembered for his extraordinary compassion and belief in kindness.
Here's to the Next 600 Mondays at the Mission Classes
Six hundred Mondays is a remarkable milestone.
But the number is only meaningful because of the people behind it.
The volunteers who show up.
The students who keep coming back.
The speakers who share their stories.
The Union Rescue Mission team who opened the doors.
And the many people who have believed that a young person's future is worth investing in.
